What are your ticket prices?
There are two fees you will encounter when visiting the Skywalk. Visitors will be required to purchase an entry fee into Grand Canyon West and if visitors choose to experience the Skywalk, an additional fee will be required:
- Grand Canyon West "Legacy", (Entrance fee to Grand Canyon West): The adult rate for the Legacy Pass is $40.95 per person. This gives you access to any of the points of interest listed below as well as a hop-on / hop-off shuttle that travels to each location daily every 10-15 minutes.
- Skywalk Admission fee (Admission onto the Skywalk): Admission onto the Skywalk is $29.95 per person. (Taxes apply)
What are the other points of interest at Grand Canyon West?
Grand Canyon West offers 3 points of interest with their Legacy pass. They include:
- Eagle Point: Home of the Skywalk, Skywalk Cafe, Creations by Native Hands gift-shop, Native American performances, authentic Indian village and spectacular views of the Grand Canyon.
- Guano Point: Panoramic view of the Grand Canyon and Colorado River, walking trails along the rim of the Grand Canyon, Hualapai barbecue and mining artifacts.
- Hualapai Ranch: Cowboy demonstrations, shows, horse-back riding, overnight cabins and wagon rides.
It’s true, Diamond Bar Road is currently being improved. Although the road has improved since the Skywalk first opened, the road is still 10 miles of rugged, yet passable unpaved surfaces. Motorcycles and sports cars are not recommended. Diamond Bar Road is very scenic and is often a positive experience for the more adventurous spirit.
The Park-n-Ride
For your convenience a shuttle service from Meadview, Arizona is provided for those who choose not to drive the 10 mile unpaved road leading to Grand Canyon West. The Park and Ride is $15 PP round trip. If you are interested in this service please contact (702) 260-6506 to make your reservation. This shuttle departs from Sky Station in Meadview, AZ and returns to Sky Station at the times indicated below (passengers must return on the bus they came on):
Depart 8:30 return 1:30
Depart 9:30 return 2:30
Depart 10:30 return 3:30-4:00
Are you open on Holidays? What are your hours?
The Skywalk is open daily (including holidays) from sunrise to sunset which currently is approximately 8:00AM to 6:00 PM. Final tickets are sold at 4:00pm. There will be a modified schedule on Dec 12th 2009 with final tickets sold at 3:30pm and closing at 5:00pm. .
Where do I park?
All guests are required to park at the Grand Canyon West Airport Terminal, which serves as the welcome center for Grand Canyon West. Included in the Grand Canyon West "Legacy," is the hop-on, hop-off shuttle which takes each visitor from the terminal to all the points of interest including Eagle Point, home of the Skywalk.
How long should I plan to stay?
In order to experience all that Grand Canyon West has to offer, it is recommended that visitors plan to stay a minimum of 3 hours.
How long are the lines?
The lines to purchase tickets are normally pretty reasonable. Our peak hours are weekdays between 11AM and 2PM. Wait time for the Skywalk can vary. Maximum occupancy is 120 people at any given time.
How much time will I be allowed on the Skywalk?
Visitors can spend as much time as they would like on the Skywalk.
Is the Skywalk slippery in the rain/snow?
Yes, the Skywalk is slippery in the rain and snow. During inclement weather periods, a small carpet is put out over the glass for customers to stand on. The carpet only obscures the view of one of the steel box beam supports and does not impede any of the view of the canyon below.
Can I bring my camera on the Skywalk?
In an effort to protect the glass walkway and preserve the Grand Canyon, all personal items are not permitted on the Skywalk. This includes cameras, cell phones, strollers, purses, backpacks, etc. Lockers are provided at no additional charge to store these items for visitors.
GPS / Internet Maps
If you are searching for the Grand Canyon Skywalk on a GPS or online, try searching for “Grand Canyon West Airport”. This ultimately will be your final destination. We STRONGLY recommend that you follow the directions provided on our website and not rely on any navigation from online map-creation sites. Many of the roads suggested through automated systems are accessible to off-road vehicles only, and extraction services in this area are limited.
Where is the closest place to stay?
If you wish to stay near Grand Canyon West, lodging is available at the Hualapai Ranch Grand Canyon West, Meadview, AZ (approximately 30 miles), or Kingman AZ (approximately 70 miles). Visitors are encouraged to book all accommodations in advance of their trip. There are also many camp ground sites in Meadview, AZ, Dolan Springs, AZ, Kingman, AZ and along US-93. Many of these include full RV hook-ups. All campers are strongly encouraged to reserve space in advance of their trip to Grand Canyon West.
Wheelchair Accessible: Manual and battery-operated wheelchairs are allowed on Grand Canyon Skywalk using our access ramp. Grand Canyon Skywalk provides wheelchairs for temporary use on the Skywalk. No rental fee is charged. Wheelchairs are available when you check-in at the Grand Canyon Skywalk ticket counter.
